Purpose of the role
The Health Expert will work closely with Project Managers, to efficiently and effectively manage the implementation of ongoing projects in the area, ensuring quality and smooth progress of work through technical support.
Key duties:
- Together with the PMs, maintain and develop relations with local authorities at different levels, donors and stakeholders
- Validate the work plan and the Operational Plan
- Monitor the progress of activities and the level of achievement of targets
- Revise the report of the projects, in support of the PM
- Provide on-the-job training on basic healthcare service delivery issues and technical backstopping on clinical cases Ensure quality of service delivery and monitor staff performance
- Contribute to data collection and analysis
Requirements:
- University Degree in in the health field and/or Master’s degree in Public Health
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Previous experience in Public Health activities in in fragile countries and/or low resource settings; experience in managing cooperation projects in the health sector will be considered an asset
- Ability of adapting skills and competencies to contexts with limited resources and capacity to effectively cooperate with the national staff
- Adaptability to live and work in rural area
TERMS OF CONTRACT
Type of contract: collaboration contract
Salary: TBD according to NGO salary grids and compensation policy (basic salary for the job position, with possible increase based on professional experience and rural area hardship allowance)
Flight ticket: one return flight
Health issues: the NGO provides health insurance and covers vaccination costs
Visa and permits: the NGO bears the cost and paperwork for visa
Accommodation: provided by the NGO, it is generally individual, depending on the logistical situation and the availability of accommodation in the workplace
Other costs: the NGO covers costs related to housing utilities and internet; food and personal expenses are covered by the worker
