Career Coach for Mentorship Program (National Position)
Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Create a service mapping for the employability of beneficiaries. Network with local factories, companies, businesses, and employment services to establish connections between beneficiaries, facilitating job interviews and employment opportunities.
• Research local events, markets, fairs, and exhibitions happening in Aleppo. Form partnerships with local businesses willing to showcase beneficiaries’ products.
• Assist beneficiaries, alongside other AVSI staff coaches, in starting their small businesses by providing guidance on entrepreneurship, marketing, and financial management.
• Provide one-to-one career guidance and counseling to beneficiaries, helping them explore various job prospects and understand industry requirements.
• Prepare beneficiaries for job interviews, offering coaching on interviewing techniques, resume writing, and workplace etiquette.
• Follow up with beneficiaries and AVSI coaches after completing the vocational training course or securing employment.
• Submit regular reports detailing beneficiaries’ progress, including vocational training achievements, job placements, and market connections.
• Perform and support any other tasks as required, based on project needs, such as data entry on Activity Info.
Essential Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or certifications in career counseling, entrepreneurship, vocational training, or coaching are highly desirable.
Work Experience:
• At least 2 years of experience in career coaching, vocational training, or counseling, with a proven track record of assisting beneficiaries in career development and job placement.
Language Proficiency:
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is required.
Required skills and experiences:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using MS Office applications and data-entry software.
