Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Support the management in the selection phase of the beneficiaries based on the arranged criteria.
• Plan and implement Life skills field activities such as raising awareness and information sessions.
• Supports the project team in the outreach within the targeted area.
• Contribute to the development/revision of training modules and materials already developed.
• Support the implementation of gender sensitive life skills training and coach the beneficiaries all along the training process.
• Provide continuous technical assistance (business management) to food producers to improve production (both qualitative and quantitative).
• Compile report on weekly and monthly basis as requested by project schedule.
• Prepare field reports.
• Prepare and file relevant documents.
• Report weekly & monthly (or more often, if required) on activities and results.
• Coordinate with the communication officer to properly document activities (Photos, small videos…) aligned with the donor’s requirements and communication guidelines.
• Assist in conducting and preparing regular mapping of relevant services being provided.
• Responsible for promoting beneficiaries’ participation in events, education, training, and other relevant activities.
• Assist with planning work on weekly and monthly basis in accordance with work plan.
Food processing
Specifically, regarding food processing activities, he/she will be responsible for:
• Aid beneficiaries of food processing in establishing links between them and the markets.
• Investigating new markets to sell the products of food processing beneficiaries.
• Assisting food processing beneficiaries in preparing marketing plans for their products.
• Conduct periodic visits to food processing beneficiaries to gather data and information, monitor the production process of their products and ensure the quality of the product and the correct use of the support granted.
• Preparing a detailed report in coordination with the Meal department and project coordinator on the growth of food processing beneficiaries through monthly income and the quantity of products sold.
• Preparing a database in coordination with the Meal department and project coordinator for each food processing beneficiary that contains the beneficiary’s information, his/ her revenue, and the obstacles he/she faces in his project.
• Working close to the food expert (if applicable), conveying the problems of the beneficiaries to him, and conveying his advice and guidance to the beneficiaries.
Team leader
Collaborate with Project Lead to ensure the timely and good implementation of the project activities.
Supervise, follow up, and evaluate periodically the capacity of the team members to achieve the objectives assigned (Life skill officers).
• Responsible for overseeing all activities within a team, Coach team members Develop team strengths and improve weaknesses.
• Responsible for deciding how to approach tasks and develop a plan to accomplish them.
• Responsible for preventing conflict where possible and resolving it when it does arise.
• Responsible for distributing information to team members and stakeholders.
• Responsible for keeping track of and structuring various tasks, employees, and documents.
• Responsible for determining the goals that members will work toward and evaluate their performance.
Perform any other relevant duties as required
Essential Requirements:
Education: University degree in Social Sciences, psychology, sociology, or related fields.
Language: Working knowledge of English, proficiency in Arabic. Kurdish and Turkmen language proficiency is preferred.
• Experience of working with vulnerable people. Ability to engage young people.
• Awareness of the issues facing people living on their own and supported accommodation.
• Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, housing legislation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
• Ability to positively work within a diverse team and provide support to other colleagues.
• Experience in identifying risk and protective factors and transfer to risk assessment.
• Competences in in business development will be consider as an asset.
Required skills and experiences:
• IT skills: Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Exchange). Ability to effectively use project management software and other information systems /databases.
• Excellent communication skills in building relationships with local contacts.
• Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible and sensitive in demanding situations; passion for working with others.
• Good understanding of, and commitment to, gender equity.
• Strong documentation, research and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector.
