WORK CONTEXT

CESVI started working in Lebanon in 2001 with emergency and development interventions depending on the current situation and country strategy. CESVI has responded to the Syrian crisis since 2011 with cash-for-work and food and NFI distributions. Current interventions cover the areas of Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Baalbek, Saida, Nabathie and Hasbaia. The two main areas of intervention in development are the education sector and SME development. CESVI has been a member of the LHIF since 2015 and is currently an active participant in the basic assistance, wash/NFI, education and protection clusters.

As a result of the ongoing humanitarian crisis, CESVI is initiating first emergency interventions in Beirut and Baalbek.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The collaboration will start in November 2024

The main duty station will be in Beirut with travel to the country (Mount Lebanon, Saida and Baalbek)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The project manager will work under the supervision of the Head of Mission and s/he has to coordinate with the Country Administrator

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • S/He will directly plan project and activities under the supervision of the Head of Mission
  • S/He will coordinate the local staff
  • S/He will ensure the project reporting in accordance with the deadlines, (activity planning, monthly project progress and final report)
  • S/He will work in close collaboration with the Country Administrator in budgeting, forecast and control of financial flows and planning
  • S/He will provide the processing of any potential project amendment or extension within the due times
  • S/He will be directly responsible for field staff recruitment and coordination
  • S/He will conduct training /mentoring /coaching for project staff team on an ongoing basis
  • S/He will guarantee that all the activities are in line with Donors’ and CESVIs’ procedures and rules
  • S/He will report to the donors and ensure the quality and accuracy of the technical information provided
  • S/He will actively participate to the country Working Group
  • S/He will write new project proposals in coordination with HQ and the field
  • S/He will liaise with relevant stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • University degree or post graduate degree, or Master’s in International Cooperation
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant and progressive experience in a humanitarian emergency setting.
  • Experience in designing and implementing projects in emergency
  • Ability to produce timely project proposals and high-quality narrative reports
  • Extensive experience of working within a complex country programme in an emergency response or fragile state
  • Experience of managing multi-donor and multi-site programmes
  • Previous experience with the management of Programme
  • Experience of working in protracted crises
  • Excellent Proposal writing, assessments and work plan
  • Knowledge of main Donors (AICS UN, DG ECHO and others International)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work cooperatively
  • Experience of building personal networks at a senior level, resulting in securing new opportunities for the organization
  • Skills in developing, delivering and evaluating training for staff members
  • Effective team membership integration ability
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High level of IT skills (Office package)
  • Strategic thinking and innovation
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, resilient and able to work independently.
  • Highly result oriented with the ability to manage workload and stress
  • Flexible and with a positive attitude
  • Proven leadership and management experience with a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting, including active mentoring and coaching
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

DESIRABLE

  • Prior working experience in the Middle East and / or Lebanon
  • Knowledge of Arabic

WE OFFER

  • Collaboration contract: 4 months renewable
  • Salary range: €3.200- 3.400 gross/monthly
  • 500€ House Allowance in Beirut
  • Insurance coverage
  • 1 round trip flight

HEALTH SAFEGUARDING

CESVI pays particular attention to safeguarding the health of all the human resources of the Organisation. Therefore, in order to protect its staff, an assessment of their suitability for the position in each mission is carried out before departure. Such assessment is done by the Occupational Doctor of the Organisation, who will also examine the vaccination coverage.
