Job position: Project Manager

Purpose of the role
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementation of project activities that aim to contribute to the reduction of severe and acute malnutrition in certain districts in Dodoma Region.
Key duties
- Organize the work of staff carried out in both health centers and project target villages
- Maintain relationship with institutional counterparts
- Monitor project implementation and project budget progress
- Collect project data and indicators for reporting to the donor (AICS)
- Prepare narrative reports for the donor
Requirements
- Previous experience in management of international cooperation projects in fragile countries and/or low-resources settings
- Experience in managing AICS-funded projects
- Experience in monitoring and data collection
- Good knowledge English and possibly Swahili
- Ability to adapt to working in rural settings and flexibility with respect to project needs
- Training in nutrition or previous experience working on malnutrition projects is preferred
TERMS OF CONTRACT
Type of contract: collaboration contract
Salary: TBD according to NGO salary grids and compensation policy (basic salary for the job position, with possible increase based on professional experience)
Rest days: 2.5 days for each month of work, for contracts longer than 4 months
Flight tickets: one return flight
Health issues: the NGO provides health insurance and covers vaccination costs
Visa and permits: the NGO bears the costs and paperwork for visa, professional registration, work and residence permits
Accommodation: provided by the NGO, it is generally individual, depending on the logistical situation and the availability of accommodation in the workplace
Other costs: the NGO covers costs related to housing utilities and internet; food and personal expenses are covered by the worker
Family policy: where the socio-political context and logistics allow it, international staff may be accompanied by their partner or family. In this case, the NGO provides a salary supplement and guarantees flights, health insurance, visas and permits for dependents and accompanying family members.
