Purpose of the role
The pediatrician will have a technical assistance role in improving the quality of care in the Paediatric Complex.
Key duties
- participate in the theoretical and practical training of ward staff on the application of national and international guidelines
- contributing to the strategy for improving the quality of services, collaborating in the evaluation of services and in the development or updating of protocols
- supervise the collection and analysis of data
- collaborate in on the job and formal training activities
- drafting technical reports in the area of competence
- contributing to operational research activities and scientific publications
- mentoring Italian residents involved in the Junior Project Officer programme
Requirements
- Degree in Medicine and Surgery
- Specialization in Paediatrics
- Good knowledge of French
- Proven professional experience as a hospital pediatrician in fragile/low-resources settings
TERMS OF CONTRACT
Type of contract: collaboration contract
Salary: TBD according to NGO salary grids and compensation policy (basic salary for the job position, with possible increase based on professional experience and country risk allowance)
Rest days: 2.5 days for each month of work, for contracts longer than 4 months
Flight ticket: one return flight for the first collaboration for up to 12 months
Health issues: the NGO provides health insurance and covers vaccination costs
Visa and permits: the NGO bears the cost and paperwork for visa
Accommodation: provided by the NGO, it is generally individual, depending on the logistical situation and the availability of accommodation in the workplace
Other costs: the NGO covers costs related to housing utilities and internet; food and personal expenses are covered by the worker
R&R: 1 week’s rest for every 11 weeks of work, with allowance to cover costs
