Overall supervision and organization of the Distance Support Program in Uganda in line with AVSI mission and vision. Assuring that all AVSI DSP staff approaches his\her duty in full awareness of AVSI method, culture and value.
Distance Support Program in Uganda supports more than 3000 children\young adults.
Main Objectives of the project:
1. Improved Educational outcomes: payment of school fees, provision of scholastic materials, provision of learning and instructional materials to the schools;
2. Improved Economic status of HHs: Mobilize HHs, train, form and follow up VSLA groups, support HHs to start up and follow up on IGAs, train HHs members in SPM, train HHs members in FL, and enrolling Youth into Apprenticeship;
3. Improved psychosocial well-being of the beneficiaries: Follow Up visits for beneficiaries, Recreational Activities, Life Skills Training, and Parenting Skills for parents/caregivers;
4. Increased access to Critical Services: to refer beneficiaries for critical services and Community Support services implemented.
The DSP Project Manager defines the Distance Support Program, in agreement with the Regional Manager, favouring the integration of the DSP with the other projects\interventions in the Country, enhancing its transversality and potential. The DSP Project Manager supervises 16 implementing partners all over Uganda with a view to capacity building; he/she coordinates directly 2 partners (direct implementation); he/she is responsible for producing quality communications with supporters\donors in Italy and takes care of the direct relationship with them through a dedicated mailbox

• Defines project and budget with the Regional Manager and HQ offices and sends them to the DSP HQ coordinator according to the predefined timetable
• Maintains constant relations with partners by proposing training activities in agreement with HQ and checking their work
• Supervises financial and narrative reporting of partners
• Identifies possible synergies with other pm in the country with a view to sustainability and greater impact on families and children
• Coordinates monitoring and data collection of the project
• Responsible for the growth and professional development of DSP staff
• Supervises the collection of useful documents for communications to the donor and the sending of communications according to established timelines
• Maintains mutual and constant coordination with the DSP HQ liaison officer regarding communications and the number of children budgeted for the country
• Education: University Degree, preferably in economic or social science
• Work experience: at least 5 years in project management
• Language Proficiency: bilingual Italian/English
Familiarity of the main social issues within disadvantage context (it will be considered a plus)
Hard Skills: good organizational skills, excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365
Soft Skills: outstanding communication capability, good team leader
