Cesvi Fondazione Onlus sta selezionando un/a Finance and Accounting Assistant da inserire nella sua operatività in Tunisia. Durata 6 mesi. Scadenza candidature 20/07/2021

WORK CONTEXT

Cesvi has been operating in Libya since 2011 as the first Italian ONG to take action, in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, through humanitarian projects in Cyrenaica sand Tripolitania. Nowadays Cesvi is one of best positioned NGOs in Libya, very active in the coordination of various sector working groups – in particular protection ones – with a diverse donors’ portfolio and serving all vulnerable target population.
In detail, Cesvi has been implementing programs supporting mixed migrants, IDPs and vulnerable host communities through service provision.
This include center-based and outreach protection activities (including child protection and GBV), warehouse management, non-food distributions, awareness-raising activities, psychosocial support, referrals to external services, cash assistance, non-formal education. At present, Cesvi works in Tripoli on three ongoing projects funded by UNHCR, UNICEF and UNFPA and in Misrata with two ongoing projects funded by EU.
Current projects:
-UNHCR: Protection and life-saving assistance to refugees and asylum seekers (Tripoli – urban areas)
-UNICEF: Psychosocial support and remedial education for children of IDPs and refugees (Tripoli – Urban areas and IDP camps)
-EU: Strengthening protection and resilience of displaced populations (Misrata – 4 detention centres and urban areas)
-EU: Enhancing Women’s Rights and Gender Equality in Libya (Misrata – urban areas).

JOB DESCRIPTION

The numbers flow on your screen and translate the activities of the humanitarian project into figures. An inescapable dimension of all emergency and development activities. You learn to read the life of the project from beginning to end through costs, units, exchange rates, contracts with suppliers, human and material resources, Excel formulas and budget flexibility, compliance with the rules cash and bank management and procurement. You will succeed in winning the challenge of financial reporting of project activities and ensuring transparency and compliance with the rules, in a dynamic and close proactive relationship with the program and the logistics part of the organization. You will see how best to work to achieve the goal of spending the entire budget as effectively as possible. You will hear the vibrations of the external audit that arrives and the fibrillation that causes you to imagine that he will appreciate the effective organization and the meticulous explanation of every expense. Because this is the art of financial management of public funds for the welfare of needy populations.

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

Accounting: support on bank and cash book data entry, bank and cash reconciliation

Shared cost: analysis and allocation among budgets

Budget Follow Up: to update the BFU according to the monthly accounting;

New budgets: to draft new budgets according to the new projects proposed by Program department;

Reporting: to draft donor report according to the deadline, based on the accounting data;

External audit: preparation of answer to the request of External audit, participation to meetings during audit exercise;

Internal audit: verification of invoices related to projects and according to internal and external rules, preparation of feedback to the internal stakeholder;

Other tasks related to finance and logistics, according to the needs.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Excel, mandatory a medium level
  • Accounting and financial knowledge
  • Smartness and high common sense
  • Speed and practical sense
  • Effective communication
  • Knowledge of English

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Knowledge of French
  • Passionate of Excel
