Role description
Still I Rise, an international NGO, works on the development and implementation of humanitarian projects aimed at the education and support of refugee children and teenagers, is looking for a Researcher and Campaigner to join its Advocacy Team. The selected person will be responsible for supporting the Advocacy Director in the development and implementation of the Advocacy and campaigning strategy for Still I Rise through the creation of documents and campaigns operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Advocacy Director with the development and execution of an effective research and campaigning strategy
- Support the Advocacy Director in the implementation of the Campaign strategic plan(s) and related documents and activities.
- Carry out research and related assignments on agreed themes and prepare reports and publications as requested from the Advocacy Director
- Identify themes, issues, questions, and problems for children and refugee rights research and campaigning
- Support the Advocacy Director in raising awareness on child rights and refugee issues through communication campaigns
- Coordinate with the Communication department to manage advocacy campaigns timelines.
- Day-to-day operational management of specific campaigns
- Support the Events Manager in the organisation of events planned for a specific campaign
- Support the Advocacy Director in the creation of social media contents in coordination with the social media manager
- Build lasting partnerships and alliances with a range of stakeholders
- Research international conferences, events, seminars and workshops to participate in as speakers or attendees with the goal of expand SIR network beyond the Greek territory
- Find opportunities in others’ events, podcasts or other activities for our colleagues to contribute
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, law, communication or similar.
- Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in advocacy, preferably in a research environment
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, in campaigns, institutional relations, event and organizational mobilization, networking or negotiation with different types of stakeholders in Italy or abroad
- Demonstrated vision and creativity as well as intellectual acuity and discipline to develop comprehensive materials that advance Still I Rise goals
- Excellent research skills and proven campaigning drive
- Accomplished presentation skills which can be adapted to address diverse audiences and media
- Excellent oral and written skills in English and Italian
- Ability to conduct high-quality research, and to produce advocacy and campaigning documents in a timely manner
- Analytical, writing, editing and verbal skills for communicating with broad and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, inspire, motivate and facilitate initiatives to work earnestly for Children’s Rights
- Precise, organized, detail-oriented and able to work on deadlines
- Proactive and energetic with a can-do attitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft excel and other programs to track and presentdata effectively
- Proven experience in campaigning at EU level considered an advantage
- Greek, Arabic, Turkish or Swahili an advantage
