Role description
Still I Rise, an international NGO, works on the development and implementation of humanitarian projects aimed at the education and support of refugee children and teenagers, is looking for an Education Manager to join its staff. The selected person will be responsible for supporting the Education Director in implementing the organization’s educational strategy, creating curriculum, and managing and supervising emergency and international school management staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Education Director in the implementation of the educational strategy for SIR
- Oversee the educational development of the programs and report to the Education Director
- Manage and supervise a team of Education Officers/School Principals keeping track of performance and deliverables, providing feedback and assessments based on the program goals and the educational strategy of SIR.
- Develop and regularly update curricula for all classes in coordination with the Education Director
- Evaluate results at the end of each quarter and write up progress reports.
- Monitoring weekly and monthly quantitative and qualitative data through KPI’s and observations
- Support the Education Director in monitoring the progress of new and existing teaching methods
- Mentor and support the Education Officers and School Principals, make sure their teams are well-managed and supported as well as activities implemented and run following the organization’s vision and guidelines.
- Assist with hiring of all education department personnel
- Follow the IB accreditation process in collaboration with the Education Director
Essential requirements
- Master’s Degree in education, pedagogy, training, education management or equivalent experience
- Proven experience with the IB system or International schools or training centers
- Experience both in field and hq positions
- Excellent knowledge of IB standards and practices
- Excellent knowledge of education in emergencies minimum standards
- Flexibility, creativity and responsiveness to propose original and efficient solutions to respond to the arose needs
- Ability to create strong, original and precise educational projects
- Strong mentoring skills
- Process improvement skills
- Ability to work autonomously combined with experience working remotely and in support of programs abroad
- Courses or certifications in school administration or project management are a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
