Social Worker – Lazio
HUMAN RESOURCES OF THE MISSION
A general coordination: General Coordinator, Medical Coordinator, Administrative and
Logistic coordinator, Advocacy manager – based in Rome.
Programme team: Program Manager and one mobile team composed by 1 psychologist, 1 social worker, 1 health adviser and mediators in one target area (Lazio) and Rome.
One mobile team composed as well by similar professional figures in charge of the programme in Sicily and Calabria.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Provide technical support to Médecins du Monde – Italy Mission on the SGBV programme for UASC (Unaccompanied asylum seeking children) and adult migrants and refugees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
• Contribute to development of the programme team workplan and objectives and ensure that the activities assigned are implemented according to the set objectives;
Support to conduct the preliminary need assessment for the identification of the target area in line with MdM strategy;
• Support to update and delivering mapping of referral services (SRH services, GBV referals, migrant-friendly social services, mental health services, etc..) in the areas of the project;
• Follow up frontline workers to guarantee appropriate case management through the identification of appropriate structures and follow up on cases referred when it is needed;
• Support the programme team in organising and conducting training module for frontline workers;
• Organise, implement and follow up the biopsychosocial activities according to the project requirement (e.g. SGBV programme in emergencies);
• Provide regular data on activity implemented for reporting purpose and program data collection system;
• Maintain good socio-professional relationships with partners and beneficiaries;
Attending meetings with local institutions, NGO, etc. when it is requested;
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor of Social Work or similar degree (Social Service, Sociology, Anthropology, Educational Sciences).
At least 4 years of experiences in the same position, preferable in Lazio Region Working experience in migration sector and with international organizations is an asset;
Fluency in English, written and spoken, French would be an advantage;
Good knowledge of referral services in target area;
Availability to travel 2 or 3 days a week within the region;
Previous experience in managing groups and organization of psychosocial activities.
Other requirements:
Knowledge of the Lazio context is highly desirable;
Good knowledge of Windows (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point).
