Period: 12 months (renewable)
Starting Date: 1st January 2018
Main objective: Achievement of projects targets: (i) Strengthening of local CSOs and participation; (ii) Promoting Integrated territorial management especially for low income and degraded urban and sub-urban areas; (iii) Implementing integrated (socio-economic, environmental and physical) requalification pilot-interventions in two slums of Pemba through micro-interventions in following sectors: environment and energy efficiency, job creation, human rights & citizenship responsibilities, creative industry (theatre, sport, music), local CSO support and coaching.
Reporting to: Country Representative
Specific duties:
Coordinating project implementation through workplan and financial plan;
Managing the staff employed within the projects promoting their capacity building and empowerment and their partner involved in the project consortium;
Coordinating all project partners (Local Authorities, NGOs and Universities) activities to the project
Monitoring and evaluation to check the progress of projects and to enhance the most significant experiences;
Drafting periodic reports, both internal and for donors, and systematizing documents;
Elaborate all Narrative reports for the donor and financial report together with the administrative department;
Control and supervise Project expenditures and budget.
Developing and formulating new project proposals;
Maintaining and developing relationships with donors as well as with stakeholders.
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Essential Requirement:
Degree in International cooperation, Economics, Urban sociology, Urban Planning (Architecture);
At least 3 years’ experience in development cooperation projects;
Knowledge of English and knowledge of Portuguese represents a significant plus;
Management and networking skills
Experience in slums upgrading in Africa represents a plus
